We know pecans are great in food, but what about in art? The Nuts For Art contest encourages artists to use pecans in art…. In a sculpture, glued onto a painting, ground up and added to a mixed media piece…. However your creative genius leads you, as long as your creation has pecans in it!

Pecan Ice Cream Eating Contest
The old fastest to finish challenge… with the additional obstacle of potential brain-freeze. Contestants will be faced with a sizeable bowl of delicious, locally made pecan ice cream, and we’re even nice enough to give contestants a spoon! When our MC gives the sign… dig in and be the first to finish that bowl – completely swallowed. Raise your hands in victory. All ages welcome, but children must have parental permission. Sign ups taken from the time the festival opens until all available slots are filled. We’ll run 10 heats of 10 and then a final with the winners of each of those heats for the Fastest Pecan Ice Cream Eating Title!
Pecan Count
How many pecans does it take to fill a giant jar? We don’t know – you tell us! Visit the giant jar of pecans and use whatever skill you have to figure out how many nuts are in that jar…. Before the challenge drives you nuts! Winner will be announced on Sunday at 6:00 pm.
